About Us

The Center for Smart Financial Choices (CFSFC) is the only non-profit organization in the Piedmont Triad region whose mission is entirely financial education and personal empowerment. CFSFC focuses its time on “teaching financial education through personal interactive programs to enable individuals to make better financial decisions now and in the future.”

In the eight years we have been operating, CFSFC has provided this education to over 28,185 teens and over 3,376 adults by meeting people where they are in life and providing workshops through employers, non-profit organizations, high schools, colleges and individually. Our volunteers have become partners in promoting financial education and empowering people.  Volunteer support has  enabled CFSFC to educate such a large number of teens and young adults.

CFSFC does this work with the help of volunteers who serve mainly as workshop facilitators. Individuals serving in this role may lead portions of workshops, take photos, set up for classes or work one-on-one with participants to share their knowledge. This position is needed for both our adult classes and youth workshops. There is no additional training involved.

We use Volunteer Local an online tool to list all our volunteer opportunities and you can select when and where you would like to volunteer. Most opportunities occur during the school day or evenings for colleges and some nonprofits.
